Why Akshay Patra?

As an organization that celebrates our heritage and our culture, giving back to our ancestral home is something we resonate strongly with. Poverty is a widespread issue in India that affects many, in fact over two-thirds of the population lives in conditions of poverty, and many of these victims are children. By supporting Akshay Patra we are pushing for a better future for these children who often have to skip meals.

What is Akshay Patra?

Akshay Patra is a non profit organization that focuses on feeding children in India who suffer from adverse financial conditions. Akshay Patra focuses on a mid-day meal program that currently feeds over 1.8 million children daily and serves to combat malnutrition in children.

What do we do?

As an organization we hold fundraisers and events to raise funds for the ultimate goal of donating them to the charity. We will try to throw together exciting events that will help to raise money for donation.

By feeding them one wholesome meal a day, we give them the nourishment and motivation they need to pursue an education for a better future. It is our endeavour to reach out to every child at the grass root level of the society.”

What can you do?

Simply by participating in SIA events you are helping us to raise money for Akshay Patra, we will throw events that may require some money to enter but we encourage you to participate as the money earned will go directly to Akshay Patra.
